eat crow

Whose reviews am I missing?

Hey folks,

As some of you know, svreviewwatch is the "watcher" journal for eat_crow that I use to collect the reviews for the community. The complete list of the people friended is here: Read more...Collapse )

I'm sure that there are people writing Smallville reviews who aren't on this list, so my question to you is: whose reviews am I missing? Any reviews are welcome: positive, negative, neutral, mixed, etc., as long as the posts are unlocked. So who else should svreviewwatch friend?

Also, I collect reviews mainly between Friday afternoons and Sunday afternoon. If you regularly post reviews later than that, let me know and I will try to be sure to get yours--or else please feel free to post them yourself.

ADMIN: Under new management

I have taken over as moderator of eat_crow, and I'm going to be attempting to revive the community a little bit. At the end of last season, I was posting a round-up of people's Smallville reviews the weekend after each episode, and I'm still happy to do that if there is interest, but I would also like to encourage people to post their own reviews and meta analysis in the community.

My only request (and this is the one rule change I have made) is that you post season 6 reviews behind a cut, so that people living in other time zones aren't inadvertantly spoiled.

I have a lot of other ideas for the community, but I want to hear what community members are interested in, so here's a brief poll:

What would you be interested in seeing in this community?

reviews of Smallville episodes collected by the moderator
reviews of Smallville episodes people posted themselves
Post-episode polls
Episode discussion topics posted by the mod or community members
Links to other SV meta
Something else I will tell you about in comments

META: non-ep specific meta

mecurtin posted an entry which read
A lot of people have been moving to flocking their LJs, which means a lot of general-interest SV meta has become inaccessible to many people. serafina20 wondered if this community would accept non-episode-specific posts. What's the policy?
It was deleted because the community policy clearly states that administrative questions should be directed to the moderator via e-mail, and then I, the moderator, will post a post titled META about it.

There is a non-zero chance that this policy was followed, and either the e-mail address did not work (it's a forwarder with which I sometimes have trouble, although I don't think I am currently) or that I deleted it in the belief it was spam. If that's the case, I apologize. However, there is an admin category bookmarked here. Go back, figure out who the admin is, and you can get my livejournal e-mail address from my lj info page. Use that. That works.

In any case, to address Doc Science's and Serafina's question, I believe there is a community for the discussion of SV specific, non-episode related meta. It is called sv_meta. I will admit, I was pretty snippy to svmadelyn when she originally set it up, because it appeared to double this community. She seems to have expanded its mandate from episode specific discussion however, according to its userinfo: This is a community for "Smallville" Meta Links and Discussion.

At this point, sv_meta is very small. Try talking it up for a while. Post a couple of interesting things to it yourselves and then get it mentioned on fandom_bb. Talk it up in your own journals. If you haven't increased its membership 200% and gotten five interesting posts by hiatus, e-mail me at witchqueen @ lj and we'll re-examine the policy. I don't want to break the toy I have that is working more or less as attended, to fix a problem that's already been addressed by someone else.
